What is a density register?
A density register is the daily record of each tank's fuel density and temperature. Fuel density is the simplest honest check of quality — but it only means something once you account for temperature, because fuel expands when warm and contracts when cool. So every reading is converted to a standard density at 15°C, the reference temperature the whole industry uses.
Kept properly, the density register is your evidence that the fuel in the ground is genuine and uncontaminated — and it's a standard item in any oil marketing company (IOCL, HPCL, BPCL) inspection.

The three readings that matter
- Morning reading — the day's baseline density and temperature for each tank, before trading starts.
- On receipt — taken when a tanker delivers. TruFuelPro converts it to 15°C and compares it against the challan density. A meaningful gap can mean a short, watered, or adulterated load — caught before you accept it.
- After decantation — once the new stock settles into the tank, a final reading confirms the blended density is in spec.
Why the 15°C conversion is the whole point
A reading of 738.0 at 30°C and 735.5 at 33°C look different — but converted to 15°C they're 750.76 and 750.10, essentially the same fuel. Without the conversion you can't tell a real quality problem from a simple temperature change. TruFuelPro does it every time, instantly.
